CHAK is hiring an Audio Visual Communications Intern in Nairobi to help create engaging videos for our YouTube channel and digital platforms, contributing to planning, filming, editing, and packaging content. Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK) is a leading national faith-based organization that brings together Protestant churches, health institutions, and programs from all over Kenya.

Job Responsibilities

  • Video Content Development:-
    • Assist in brainstorming and developing video concepts aligned with organizational communication goals
    • Support scriptwriting, storyboarding, and content planning for YouTube videos
    • Contribute creative ideas to enhance storytelling and audience engagement
  • Video Production Support:-
    • Assist in filming video content, including interviews, events, and field activities
    • Support setup of basic audio-visual equipment (cameras, microphones, lighting)
    • Capture high-quality footage and ensure proper framing, lighting, and sound
  • Video Editing and Post-Production:-
    • Edit video content using editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar)
    • Add graphics, subtitles, transitions, and music where appropriate
    • Incorporate branding elements and ensure consistency with organizational guidelines
    • Revise video drafts based on feedback from the team.
  • YouTube Channel Management:-
    • Assist in uploading and publishing videos on YouTube
    • Write video titles, descriptions, and tags optimized for search (SEO)
    • Design or support creation of thumbnails
    • Organize playlists and maintain the channel’s content library
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:-
    • Monitor video performance metrics (views, watch time, engagement)
    • Compile basic analytics reports and suggest improvements
    • Stay updated on YouTube trends and recommend content ideas accordingly
  • Event and Field Support:-
    • Provide video coverage during events, campaigns, and field visits
    • Assist in capturing behind-the-scenes content for digital platforms
  • Digital and Social Media Support:-
    • Assist in managing and updating social media platforms
    • Draft and schedule social media posts for review and approval
    • Support the creation of multimedia content
    • Monitor engagement and compile basic performance reports
  • Administrative and Team Support:-
    • Maintain organized archives of video footage and edited content
    • Support other communications tasks as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Communications, Film Production, Media Studies, Journalism, or a related field
  • Basic video shooting and editing skills
  • Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar tools)
