Visual Design Intern

<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Assist in the creation of visual learning materials, including: Visual boards and design layouts, PDF guides and learning resources, PowerPoint presentations, Emailers and digital communications&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Support the development and editing of video content for learning initiatives.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Assist with photography and videography projects where required.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Translate creative briefs into clear, engaging, and visually appealing designs.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Contribute fresh and innovative ideas that enhance learner engagement.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Ensure design outputs align with brand and organisational guidelines.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Assist with content preparation, asset management, and quality checking of design materials.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Stay up to date with design, social media, retail, and digital learning trends.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p style="line-height: normal;">A Degree, Diploma, or relevant 3-year qualification in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">A portfolio showcasing design projects, academic work, or personal creative work.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Basic understanding of design principles including layout, typography, colour, and visual hierarchy.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Exposure to digital design and content creation.</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">A passion for creativity, learning, and visual storytelling&nbsp;</p></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Skills</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Familiarity with creative software and AI content creation tools, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Canva, Vyond, Synthesia, ChatGPT or Midjourney, would be advantageous but is not essential.</p></li></ul><p style="line-height: normal;">&nbsp;</p><p style="line-height: normal;"><strong>Behaviours</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Continual Improvement - Actively seeks opportunities to continually improve processes</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Decision Making - Analyses complex situations to ensure effective and timely choices</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Entrepreneurial thinking</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Meeting Customer Expectations - Consistently delivers exceptional customer service</p></li><li><p style="line-height: normal;">Presenting &amp; Communication - Articulates ideas clearly to different audiences</p></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Preference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.</strong></p>
