Job Description

Responsibilities

Train and facilitate learning through trainings, seminars, workshops, tutorials and other learning tasks as assigned by the supervisor from time to time;

Participate in the development, administration and marking of exams, practical tasks, assignments and continuous assessment tests;

Participate in the development and implementation of academic policies, guiding principles, objectives and functions in accordance with the vision of the Institute;

Assist in developing learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance;

Undertaking research to inform the development/ review of curriculum and validation of learning resources;

Assist in the requisition and management of inventories, realia, tools and equipment used as learning resources;

Provide advice, guidance and feedback to trainees to support their professional progress and refer students to support services as appropriate;

Participate in supervision and assist students in their practical work;

Contribute and participate in the development of departmental seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the Department;

Nurture trainees’ creativity and innovation through active involvement in trainees’ contests, trade fairs and projects;

Create industry linkages to support experiential learning, training excursions and attachments;

Contribute to departmental, Institute and/or University-wide meetings, working groups or committees as and when requested to do so;

Undertake continuous professional development and participate in staff development and other training activities as required by regulators to update and enhance skills;

Maintain proper records of students’ examinations, assignments, practical tasks and continuous assessment tests and ensure they are keyed in the examination records management system in time;

Undertake any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
