<p><strong><u>Duties & Responsibilities</u></strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 48px;"><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in line with approved reporting timelines.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Review financial statements, schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, consistency and compliance with applicable reporting requirements.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Coordinate the collation and validation of financial information received from business units, Finance teams and relevant Group entities.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Review accounting entries and adjustments required for accurate financial reporting and escalate material or judgmental matters to the Unit Head.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements, notes and disclosures in accordance with IFRS and Group Accounting Policies.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Monitor the financial close and reporting timetable, follow up on outstanding inputs and escalate potential delays, data gaps and unresolved exceptions.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Perform analysis of periodic financial results and explain significant movements in income, expenses, assets, liabilities and other material balances.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Prepare financial performance summaries, ratio analysis, schedules and analytical reports to support management decision-making.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Conduct preliminary research on technical accounting matters and prepare position papers or recommendations for the Unit Head's review.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Support the assessment and implementation of new or revised IFRS requirements and Group Accounting Policies affecting financial reporting.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Review the accounting and reporting implications of new products, product manuals and significant transactions, and escalate complex matters as required.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Implement approved controls governing the preparation, review and submission of financial reports, ensuring adequate review trails and supporting documentation.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Review financial reporting and general-ledger exceptions, coordinate corrective action with responsible units and track resolution within agreed timelines.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Coordinate the collation of schedules, reconciliations and evidence required for internal, external and regulatory audit reviews.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Respond to audit information requests relating to assigned reporting areas and track the closure of agreed financial-reporting action points.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Identify opportunities to automate reporting activities, strengthen data integrity and improve reporting templates, workflows and turnaround times.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Support user acceptance testing and validation of system changes that affect financial reporting processes and data outputs.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Provide guidance to team members and internal stakeholders on approved financial reporting requirements, procedures and accounting policies.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Plan, allocate, review and monitor the work of assigned team members, providing coaching and quality feedback to ensure timely and accurate delivery.</span></p></li></ul><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;"><strong><u>Job Requirements</u></strong></span></p><p class="BodyBullet" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;"><strong>Education:</strong></span></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 53.73px;"><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="margin-bottom: 3pt; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">First degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another relevant discipline.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="margin-bottom: 3pt; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or an equivalent qualification is required. </span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="margin-bottom: 3pt; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">A relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.</span></p></li></ul><p class="BodyBullet" style="margin-bottom: sans-serif;"><strong>Experience:</strong></span></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 64px;"><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="margin-bottom: 3pt; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Minimum of 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience in financial accounting, financial reporting, audit or financial control, preferably within banking or financial services.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="margin-bottom: 3pt; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Practical experience in the preparation or review of IFRS-compliant financial statements, management reports and supporting disclosures.</span></p></li><li><p class="BodyBullet" style="margin-bottom: 3pt; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in;"><span style="font-family: "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">Experience coordinating reporting activities, external audit requirements and work of a professional team.</span></p></li></ul>
