Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead our construction projects in Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects from inception to completion. The role will involve managing a team of engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, architects, and other construction professionals
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Manage and control project costs, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Ensure that all project documentation, including reports, minutes, and records, are accurate, complete, and up-to-date
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements
  • Develop and maintain a culture of safety, quality, and excellence
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of construction laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Ability to travel frequently to project sites
  • Fluency in English and Swahili
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating and cost control
  • Ability to develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Strong knowledge of construction scheduling and project control
  • Ability to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues
  • Strong knowledge of construction quality control and assurance
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety and risk management
  • Ability to develop and implement safety plans and procedures
