National Consultants and Field Coordinators (Roster):Honduras

Consultancy · Project-based · Based in Honduras  · Rolling applications

About Bodhi

Bodhi Global Analysis is a woman-led international development research consultancy established in London in 2017, with subsidiaries in Nairobi (2018), Singapore (2023), Dar es Salaam (2025), and The Hague (2026). We specialise in formative and evaluative research through participatory approaches, serving UN agencies, bilateral donors, INGOs, and regional organisations across fragile and conflict-affected contexts. As an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001 certified organisation, Bodhi maintains rigorous quality control across all operations.

About the Roles

Bodhi is expanding its Honduras roster across two distinct but complementary profiles: National Consultants and Field Coordinators. We work on a broad pipeline of evaluations, conflict and gender analyses, political economy assessments, baseline and endline studies, and capacity-building assignments, and we draw on rostered specialists to deliver them.

These are two different roles. Some applicants will fit one; some will fit both. In your cover letter, please state clearly whether you are applying as a National Consultant, a Field Coordinator, or both, and address the requirements relevant to your chosen track(s). We will assess your application against the track(s) you specify.

This is a roster engagement. Successful applicants are added to Bodhi's consultant roster and contracted on a project-by-project basis as assignments arise, with immediate deployment opportunities anticipated in the short term.

Track A. National Consultant

National Consultants are subject-matter specialists who bring deep contextual knowledge of Honduras  and recognised expertise in one or more of our thematic areas. You will work alongside Bodhi's international project teams to shape methodology, lead in-country analysis, conduct senior-level interviews, and contribute to high-quality analytical outputs.

Thematic expertise

We are particularly interested in consultants with demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas, which reflect the focus of our project portfolio:

  • Conflict, peacebuilding, and human security: conflict analysis, conflict sensitivity, social cohesion, and the humanitarian-development-peace nexus
  • Gender and inclusion: gender analysis, women's empowerment, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and the Women, Peace and Security agenda
  • Governance and political economy: political economy analysis, civil society, advocacy, accountability, and human rights
  • Youth, education, and livelihoods: youth engagement, education, skills and employability, entrepreneurship, and economic recovery
  • Migration and displacement: forced displacement, refugee and host-community dynamics, and protection
  • Climate, environment, and resilience: climate change adaptation, natural resource management, disaster risk reduction, food security, and resilience
  • Humanitarian response and basic services: protection, child protection, WASH, health, nutrition, and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS)
  • You do not need to cover all of these. Tell us where your expertise genuinely lies.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide contextual expertise on Honduras's political, security, governance, social, and economic dynamics, and on your specific thematic area(s)
  • Contribute to the design and contextual adaptation of methodologies, evaluation matrices, and data collection tools
  • Conduct desk-based research and stakeholder mapping, synthesising academic literature, policy reports, and institutional data
  • Lead or conduct key informant interviews with senior stakeholders, including government officials, donors, partners, and civil society leaders
  • Contribute to analysis, drafting, and validation of analytical reports, policy briefs, and evaluation deliverables
  • Support inception and validation workshops with national stakeholders

Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (for example international relations, political science, peace and conflict studies, gender studies, economics, development studies, or a related social science)

  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the thematic areas listed above
  • Proven experience conducting qualitative research, including senior-level key informant interviews
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and synthesis skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured reports in English
  • Established professional networks across government, civil society, academia, and the development community in Honduras
  • Current residence in Honduras

Desirable

  • A PhD or published research outputs in a relevant thematic area
  • Experience working with UN agencies, bilateral donors, or INGOs
  • Experience in fragile and conflict-affected contexts
  • Familiarity with OECD-DAC evaluation criteria, theory-based evaluation, or outcome harvesting

Track B. Field Coordinator

Field Coordinators are primary data collection specialists. You bring an established network of enumerators and the operational experience to mobilise, train, and manage field teams, oversee quality, and deliver clean data from challenging environments. This is a hands-on operational role rather than an analytical one.

Key responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and manage teams of enumerators and note-takers, drawing on your existing network in Honduras
  • Maintain gender balance within field teams, ensuring female enumerators are available to interview female respondents where the context requires
  • Plan and oversee quantitative survey data collection using digital data collection platforms (for example KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, or ODK), including sampling implementation, routing, and device management
  • Facilitate and moderate focus group discussions, applying gender-sensitive and conflict-sensitive approaches
  • Conduct or support key informant interviews at community and local-authority level
  • Manage field logistics, including scheduling, venue identification, respondent mobilisation, and movement planning
  • Implement daily quality assurance, including spot-checks, back-checks, debriefs, and review of submitted data
  • Ensure all data collection adheres to ethical standards, informed consent protocols, and safeguarding requirements
  • Provide the project team with real-time contextual and security updates, flagging risks and advising on mitigation

Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience in field research and data collection
  • A minimum of five years' experience coordinating primary data collection in Honduras , including both quantitative surveys and qualitative methods
  • An established, mobilisable network of enumerators and field researchers across Honduras  , including in regions beyond the capital
  • Demonstrated experience training and managing enumerator teams
  • Proven experience facilitating focus group discussions and conducting key informant interviews
  • Hands-on experience with digital data collection platforms
  • Strong organisational and logistical management skills, with the ability to deliver under tight timelines
  • Current residence in Honduras  with the ability to travel to all regions of the country

Desirable

  • Experience managing data collection in fragile, insecure, or remote areas
  • Knowledge of sampling methodologies and field-level quality control protocols
  • Experience working with UN agencies, bilateral donors, or INGOs
  • First aid, safety, or security training relevant to fieldwork

Common Requirements (both tracks)

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Honduras's national and local languages is essential for community-level work and a strong advantage throughout
  • Commitment to research ethics, informed consent, confidentiality, and safeguarding
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality, objective work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote, multidisciplinary international team

What We Offer

  • A consultancy engagement with inclusion on Bodhi’s consultant roster for consideration for future assignments and project opportunities as they arise.
  • The opportunity to contribute to technically rigorous research for UN agencies, donors, and development partners
