The purpose of this consultancy is to facilitate the provision of technical and programmatic work to the Accelerated Disease Control (ADC) team within the Immunization programme to strengthen programme implementation monitoring and performance, outbreak monitoring and intelligence, outbreak prevention and response, partnership coordination, and evidence generation and translation for vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) affecting children, adolescents and caregivers.

The consultant will contribute to UNICEF’s efforts to improve real-time programme monitoring, identify bottlenecks, and enable data-driven decision making to accelerate disease control and strengthen immunization programme.

Qualifications

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Master's degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities or related field.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in immunization programme management, outbreak preparedness and response, pandemic preparedness, implementation monitoring, evidence generation and disease prevention.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English required. Knowledge of another official UN language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills

  • Strong analytical and data systems experience
  • Knowledge of immunization and VPDs
  • Strong writing and communication skills

Desirables

  • Experience working with UNICEF, WHO, CDC or Gavi
