Business Development Executive – Industrial Sales

Job Description
An industrial engineering and MRO supply company based in Nairobi is seeking a motivated candidate to join their team. The role involves identifying new industrial customers, visiting companies, registering the company as an approved supplier, generating sales opportunities, and maintaining accurate customer records in the CRM.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Identifying and approaching potential industrial customers across Kenya
- Visiting factories, manufacturers, institutions, contractors, and process plants to introduce products and services
- Following up with procurement departments to register the company as an approved supplier
- Looking for MRO sales opportunities involving industrial spares, valves, steam products, fittings, and related engineering items
- Building relationships with procurement officers, maintenance managers, engineers, and operations teams
- Generating RFQs and following up quotations until purchase order stage
- Updating customer contacts, visits, enquiries, opportunities, and follow-ups in the CRM
- Preparing weekly reports on customer visits, supplier registrations, RFQs, quotations, and sales pipeline
- Traveling within Nairobi and across Kenya to look for business opportunities
Requirements include:
- Diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Procurement, or a related field
- Previous experience in sales, business development, procurement support, customer service, or industrial products
- Experience selling to factories, manufacturers, contractors, institutions, or process plants is highly preferred
- Confidence in approaching new customers and making field visits
- Good communication, follow-up, and reporting skills
- Basic computer skills, including email, Excel, and CRM/data entry
- Willingness to travel around Kenya for business development
- Ability to work independently and meet targets

Compensation details:
- Monthly basic salary
- Sales commission based on paid orders
