Machapala Group is recruiting for its subsidiary, Machame Refineries, a fast-growing energy company commissioning a state-of-the-art pyrolysis plant in Nyenga, Jinja. The plant will convert waste tyres and plastics into pyrolysis oil and other sustainable fuels, contributing to industrial energy solutions and circular economy development. We invite applications from highly competent, disciplined, and results-oriented individuals to fill the following positions:

The Plant Operator

The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems, including reactors, condensers, and auxiliary units, ensuring production processes run within defined parameters and meet quality and safety standards.

Key Result Areas

  • Plant equipment and systems are operated within defined temperature, pressure, and safety limits in accordance with established procedures.
  • Start-up, steady-state, and shutdown operations are executed effectively in line with approved SOPs.
  • Process parameters, operational data, and shift logbooks are accurately recorded and maintained.
  • Equipment abnormalities such as leaks, vibrations, or unusual readings are promptly identified, reported, and escalated.
  • Routine inspections and line walks are conducted to ensure operational integrity of the plant.
  • Housekeeping standards and 5S practices are consistently maintained across operational areas.
  • Safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are strictly adhered to at all times.

Requirements

  • Applicants must possess a technical certificate or diploma in process, production, or mechanical-related fields.
  • Experience in industrial plant operations will be an added advantage.
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, discipline, and the ability to work in rotating shifts within a high-pressure environment.
