The International Programs initiative strengthens APHRC’s global network of partners by formalizing collaborations with universities, research institutions, and development organizations worldwide. Through these partnerships, the program supports joint research, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building activities such as internships, visiting scholars, fellowships, and collaborative projects. Its goal is to enhance research excellence, promote evidence-based policy, and build the capacity of African researchers and institutions to address population, health, and development challenges across the continent.
Internship Opportunities
Project 24 – International Programs – Administrative Officer – (1 intern)
Internship Activities
- Provide administrative support.
- Partnership coordination.
- Stakeholder engagement.
- Data management and reporting.
Preferred Background and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools.
Project 25 – International Programs – Liaison Officer – (1 intern)
Internship Activities
- Strategic partnership and representation.
- Program implementation and coordination.
- Regulatory compliance and operational oversight.
- Policy engagement and advocacy.
- Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Preferred Background and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in public health, social sciences, international development, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the local regulatory and institutional landscape.
Project 26 – International Programs – Partnership Officer – (1 intern)
Internship Activities
- Partnership development and relationship management.
- Resource mobilization and donor engagement.
- Support for international agenda.
- Capacity building and knowledge sharing.
- Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Preferred Background and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in public health, international relations, development studies, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to mobilize resources and secure funding for large-scale initiatives.
- Experience in project planning and management.
Project 27 – International Programs – Communications Officer – (1 intern)
Internship Activities
- Partnership communication management.
- Content development and dissemination event coordination.
- Stakeholder engagement and networking.
- Monitoring and reporting.
Preferred Background and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, or a related field.
- A master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with the research and development landscape, particularly in Africa, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools, including social media platforms, content management systems, and graphic design software.
