Job Summary:
The HOD School of Health will be responsible for the overall management of the School of Health, including academic programs, research, and community engagement. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent leadership and management skills, and a proven track record of academic and research excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership to the School of Health, including academic programs, research, and community engagement.
- Develop and implement academic programs that align with the University's strategic objectives.
- Foster a culture of research excellence within the School of Health, including the development of research proposals and the supervision of research students.
- Build and maintain partnerships with industry, government, and other stakeholders to enhance the School's reputation and impact.
- Manage the School's budget and resources effectively.
- Supervise and mentor academic staff to ensure their professional development and well-being.
- Collaborate with other schools and departments to promote interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
- Represent the School of Health at University and external events.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Dean, School of Health.
Requirements:
- A PhD in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of experience in academic leadership, preferably in a university setting.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate academic staff.
- A strong track record of academic and research excellence, with a proven ability to secure research funding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain partnerships with industry, government, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex budgets and resources.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a strong commitment to flexibility and resilience.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to promote a culture of respect and inclusivity within the School of Health.
