Fortune Technologies Limited is hiring an Insurance Graduate Trainee in Nairobi. Fortune Technologies Limited is a leading Kenya-based HR solutions and ICT consulting firm.
The Graduate Trainee – Insurance Operations role is designed to develop high-potential graduates by providing structured exposure to core insurance functions. The trainees will work across Claims, Underwriting, and Customer Service departments, gaining practical experience, technical knowledge, and professional competencies.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Department
- Assist in the registration, documentation, and processing of insurance claims.
- Support claims assessment by verifying policy coverage and required documentation.
- Participate in claims investigations, follow-ups, and settlement processes under supervision.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date claims records in line with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Support customer communication regarding claims status and requirements.
Underwriting Department
- Support the evaluation and analysis of insurance proposals and risk information.
- Assist in preparing underwriting documentation, quotations, and policy schedules.
- Participate in risk assessment reviews and data validation processes.
- Support policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, and record maintenance.
- Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, policies, and compliance standards.
Customer Service Department
- Provide first-line support to customers through various channels, including phone, email, and walk-ins.
- Assist in responding to customer inquiries related to policies, premiums, claims, and general insurance services.
- Support onboarding of new customers and policy servicing activities.
- Escalate complex customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to maintaining high service standards and positive customer experiences.
Requirements & Qualifications
- University Graduate – Actuarial or any Business Degree
- Professional Qualifications – progress towards a Diploma in Insurance will be an added advantage
- Basic knowledge of / Experience in General Insurance operations
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving
