Job Description

Our client, a leading agricultural company, is seeking a proactive and Field Assistant – Avocado Out-Growers oriented Field to support the identification, onboarding, and management of avocado farmers across designated regions.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in avocado agronomy, strong farmer engagement skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with production and quality standards across the value chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of strategies to integrate farmers and farmer groups into the company’s production and supply chain in line with set targets.
  • Act as the focal point in coordinating and implementing out-grower programs within assigned regions.
  • Identify, mobilize, and onboard avocado farmers and farmer groups into the company’s supply chain.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to farmers on best agronomic practices, including crop management, nutrition, and post-harvest handling.
  • Provide technical support and supervise field teams to ensure effective execution of planned activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of farmers, production forecasts, and crop status, including expected volumes and quality.
  • Coordinate harvesting schedules in consultation with the Head of Department to ensure timely harvesting and delivery of produce.
  • Ensure proper harvesting and post-harvest handling practices are adhered to at the farm level.
  • Work closely with the compliance team to ensure adherence to certification standards and regulatory requirements within the assigned regions.
  • Prepare reports and perform any other duties as assigned in support of the organization’s objectives.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in avocado agronomy, preferably within an out-grower framework.
  • Strong knowledge of crop protection and plant nutrition practices.
  • Good understanding of horticultural certification standards (e.g., Global G.A.P or similar).
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and data management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a field-based environment.
