Job Description

CAML investors include global and local institutional investors, individual retail investors, and diaspora investors. To advance key growth initiatives, the company is looking for highly motivated, dynamic, hardworking and self-driven team players to join the team in the Investments Department. The individuals will handle various aspects to advance the firm’s research and investment coverage into the rapidly evolving digital finance space, with a focus on digital payments, stablecoins, virtual assets, and fintech innovation. The role sits within the broader investment team and complements existing coverage across fixed income, real estate, and equities by identifying opportunities at the intersection of financial technology and investments. Many who have gone through our internship program have progressed to work for world renowned Private Equity firms, Financial Services Firms and Corporates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental research and analysis on investment opportunities within Digital Payments, Virtual Assets, Stablecoins, Fintech, and emerging financial technologies, alongside traditional asset classes.
• Financial modelling and data analysis
• Analysing historical and projected financial statements & investment data
• Authoring original investments research on digital payments sector trends
• Preparing written reports and verbal presentations
• Conducting country, industry and capital markets research with a focus on digital payments, stablecoins, virtual assets, and fintech innovation.
• Participating in the evaluation, formulation and implementation of investment strategies
• Contributing in investment meetings and review sessions
• Conduct industry and customer analyses on behalf of the Investment and business development teams
• Work with clients to develop a financial plan as the basis of providing sound financial advice
• Prepare the relevant presentations for events
• Comply with all corporate policies and procedures
• Thought leadership and article writing.
• Any other duties as may be prescribed from time to time

Requirements

• The ideal candidate should have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Upper Second Class Honours or equivalent
• Minimum of a B+ in KCSE or equivalent
• Sufficient progress towards professional qualifications in finance/investments e.g. CIFA/CFA or be a registered student and actively pursuing the CFA, CIFA, CPA or CAIA qualifications
• Excellent analytical skills and quantitative ability
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with great accuracy, organization, attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion with minimal directions
• Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and distill the most important takeaways to guide next steps
