Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child Protection Officer to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our programs in child protection, including developing and implementing child protection policies and procedures, conducting child protection assessments, and providing training and capacity building to our staff and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and support to our programs in child protection, including developing and implementing child protection policies and procedures
  • Conduct child protection assessments and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Provide training and capacity building to our staff and partners on child protection best practices
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure that child protection is integrated into all aspects of our work
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and other partners
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in child protection and apply this knowledge to our work

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in child protection, including experience in program management and technical assistance
  • Strong knowledge of child protection policies and procedures, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Fluency in English and Swahili
