We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Chief Operations Officer (COO) to oversee the daily operations of a steel and metal manufacturing company. The successful candidate will ensure operational efficiency, drive productivity, and implement strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Direct and manage all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality assurance, and supply chain.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize output.
- Process Optimization: Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee procurement, inventory control, and logistics to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Financial Oversight: Manage operational budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effective resource utilization.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams across production and operations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management, clients, and vendors to align operational goals with business objectives.
- Risk Management: Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard business continuity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.
- Strong knowledge of steel and metal production processes.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and optimize operational costs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing technologies.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability.
