About the Program
The Mastercard Foundation Associates Program is a strategic initiative designed to bridge the gap between education and meaningful employment. By connecting talented young Africans with 12-month internships, the program provides hands-on work experience, leadership development, and professional networking opportunities.
In Kenya, the program focuses on fostering a new generation of transformative leaders by embedding them within the Foundation’s partner organizations and external high-impact entities.

Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Between 18 and 35 years old.
- Experience: Recent graduates with 0–2 years of professional work experience.
- Affiliation: Open to all qualified youth, with a priority focus on:
- Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Alumni.
- Alumni of other Mastercard Foundation programs.
- Commitment to Inclusion: We strongly encourage applications from young women, persons with disabilities, and refugees or internally displaced persons (IDPs) currently residing in Kenya.
Program Journey
- Recruitment & Selection: Rigorous vetting through our regional recruitment partners.
- Placement: Matching selected Associates with suitable internship roles in Kenya.
- Growth & Transition: Ongoing training followed by support in finding permanent “dignified and fulfilling” work.
